Tim Hortons, a popular Canadian coffee chain, is looking to grow its presence in the Greater Philadelphia region, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The chain recently opened its fifth New Jersey store in Cinnaminson, New Jersey at the end of November. There is also a Tim Hortons coffee shop in Stratford at 57 N. White Horse Pike.

Tim Hortons also recently signed a development agreement for multiple stores in Delaware. Coffee shops are slated for Kent and New Castle counties in Delaware.

Ryan Ferranti, head of business development for Tim Hortons’ U.S. operations, wouldn’t say exactly how many stores are planned, but he did say that the first of them could open by late 2024.

Ferranti added that the brand has recently made changes to its store format and menu which will aid in the expansion process.

“I think we’re being intentionally diligent and methodical about the right time to come back to the market and having this new image, sort of an updated and streamlined menu. We’re excited to grow,” he said.

The new menu is focused more on beverages and the size of new stores is smaller, decreasing from more than 2,000 square feet to approximately 1,600 square feet.
