Three of the Richest Schools in Pennsylvania Are Right Here in Montgomery County

Having the right number of resources to provide the best education possible is important for schools across the country, including Pennsylvania.

Here in Montgomery County, it may surprise you to learn that we have three of the top 5 richest schools in the state. The Hill School, Perkiomen School, and Haverford College all made the list, writes Jenna Jury for Moms Who Think.

While schools certainly don’t have to be rich to provide an excellent education, more funds do mean that they have more opportunities to give their students a more individualized educational experience.

Here is what you should know about the three richest schools in the state.

Perkiomen School

Located in Pennsburg, Perkiomen School has an endowment of $15 million. The private school has a small student-to-teacher ratio which allows for more individual attention.

Perkiomen School consistently ranks in the top 20 percent of private schools in Pennsylvania. Tuition is $68,000.

The Hill School

Pottstown’s The Hill School is a boarding school with an endowment of $187.7 million. The school refers to itself as a “home away from home” for its students. It also has a day school option.

The Hill School offers 28 AP courses and 21 sports, and also consistently ranks in the top 20 percent of the state’s private schools. Tuition is $61,410 and for the day school $42,370 a year.

Haverford College

Haverford College located on Lancaster Avenue in Haverford also made the list. Its endowment is $510 million. The college ranks as number 14 for best small colleges in the United States and has an acceptance rate of 18 percent.

The faculty at the school highly prizes research and collaboration. Tuition is $79,704.
