LumiNature, the popular annual winter light show experience, returned better and bigger than ever to the Philadelphia Zoo last month, writes Vince Carey for The Trentonian.

“The holiday season is such an important time to reconnect with what’s important to us, and LumiNature Presented by PNC is designed to do just that,” said Zoo Chief Experience and Marketing Officer Amy Shearer.

The goal is for people of all ages to experience a magical time.

“LumiNature shines a light on the wonders of the natural world around us and serves as a terrific way to welcome the wonders of the holiday season,” said Joseph G. Meterchick, PNC Bank Regional President for Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern New Jersey.

The show features over a million twinkling lights across 16 zones throughout the zoo. Among the highlights are two new illuminated zones, Shimmer River and LumiNature Lane. All of the fan favorites are back, as well, such as Penguin Prismatic which features a 40-foot tall penguin glimmering with 40,000 lights. The 25-foot tall tree consisting of 1,500 lit flamingo lawn ornaments is also back.

The experience will run until January 6, 2024.
