Forge Hospitality, the hospitality arm of Audubon Land Development Corp., has been making extensive upgrades to the 24-year-old Hampton Inn & Suites in Phoenixville, writes Emma Dooling for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Just last month, Forge finished $1.3 M in exterior improvements including a new roof, new landscaping, and improved parking and sidewalks.

The hotel, which is located near the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, has also revamped its guest rooms and public spaces and will have a new pool and updated pool deck this summer.

The total cost of all the improvements is expected to be about $2.875 million.

Tonya Muncey, vice president of operations and development at Forge Hospitality, said that next, they would be committing at least $1.2 million in upgrades at their other hotels in the area.

Audubon Land Development has plans to also upgrade its other older properties including the Hilton Garden Inn Valley Forge/Oaks and the Homewood Suites Philadelphia/Valley Forge.

Muncey said that while COVID-19 hit the hospitality industry hard, its hotels have now recovered to about 75% of 2019 levels and expects to rebound completely in 2024.

“We’re very optimistic about what 2024 and 2025 hold, and we want to continue to be those market leaders. And to do that, we recognize that an investment needed to be made. Years and years of heavy occupancy, it wears on a hotel,” she said.
