Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network Connects Veterans to Career Opportunities

By

In Conshohocken recently, the Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network hosted its Veteran Business Referral Network, according to the staff at 6abc.

The program helps veterans explore business careers after the military. Veterans and business owners connect through 30-second pitches.

Alex Archawski founded the Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network after his own experience of transitioning from the military to civilian work twice.

The group’s motto is to provide tools like interview skills to aid veterans on their mission to find job opportunities.

During speed interviews, veterans are taught to effectively pitch their talents.

“Where are the veterans so we can connect with them about job opportunities, and help each other continue to thrive outside the military,” Archawski said.

Rodney Hall, a Navy veteran, and founder of R.B. Hall Associates said that the internet and social media have expanded opportunities for veterans. His company helps small businesses use technology in more effective ways.

Other local veteran start-ups include Houwzer, NeuroFlow, J-Dog, and ZeroEyes.
