Chase Coleman has been at six schools in five years, including Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, but his long journey to find his own place has paid off as he gets recruited by Jacksonville State, writes Rich Flanagan for City of Basketball Love.

Coleman was meant to suit up for the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials this season, but instead, he ended up enrolled at Southern Coast Academy in Florida.

During his high school career, he attended Archbishop Carroll, The Patrick School in New Jersey, Keystone Academy as well as Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

Now at Southern Coast Academy, Coleman had already garnered the attention of Jacksonville State head coach Ray Harper before the end of September.

“What happened was Jacksonville State had come in for one of my other teammates and Coach Harper said he needed a guard,” Coleman said.

Coleman accepted Harper’s offer to play with the Gamecocks on November 9.

Jim Donofrio, Coleman’s former coach at Plymouth Whitemarsh, received a call from Harper asking for his perspective.

When describing Coleman, Donofrio said, “He’s quiet but focused. The ones that compete at the highest level of intensity have something that not every athlete has. Chase draws on pride when he gets on the floor.”
