The similarities between George School freshman Tyler Sutton and Kobe Bryant during his Lower Merion High School days are undeniable, at least according to Sam Rines Jr., writes Mike Sielski for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Rines, who coached Bryant in the AAU, recently saw Sutton play in a tournament. Rines also coached Ben Luber, George School’s head coach.

After the AAU tournament, Rines took to Twitter, where he posted an old photo of Bryant and Luber arm-in-arm and shared his impressions of Sutton.

“So, the little guy in this picture is Ben Luber and he was 10 when he started playing for me,” he wrote.

“He coaches at the George School. He has an 8th grader coming to George next year that’s the best thing I seen since Kobe in Philadelphia. He’s special.”

The 15-year-old has already received eight Division I scholarship offers. He also dominated the middle-school game at the Danny Rumph Classic and was the only then-14-year-old to compete at this summer’s Nike IS8.

“Everywhere I go, no matter what competition I’m playing, I just feel like I’m the best on the floor,” he said.
