ABC’s ‘Superstar’ Chronicled Kobe Bryant’s Life, Including His Time at Lower Merion High School

The latest episode of ABC’s Superstar series chronicled Kobe Bryant’s life, including his days as a young basketball star at Lower Merion High School, writes Pat Ralph for the Philly Voice.

Superstar: Kobe Bryant profiled the legendary NBA player both on and off the court and offered viewers “an intimate portrait of one of the most important sports figures of recent times, much of it told in his own words.”

Among other things, the episode covers the Black Mamba’s rise to basketball stardom while at Lower Merion High School.

It will also include his Hall of Fame NBA career, his Oscar-winning short film Dear Basketball and his family life with his wife Vanessa and as a “girl dad” to his four daughters.

Additionally, the program delved into some of the complications of his personal life, including the 2003 rape accusation, and his and his daughter Gianna’s tragic death in a helicopter crash in January 2020.

The episode debuted on Wednesday at 10 p.m. and will be available to stream on Hulu.
