One of the hottest trends in cocktails right now is creating drinks that taste just like your favorite foods, writes Robert Simonson for VinePair.

It is not a brand-new idea, but lately, the trend has been kicking up some steam and you can find food cocktails at more and more bars and restaurants including the Round House in Lansdale.

The Round House is known for its cheesesteak martini.

Double Chicken Please in New York City has been leading the food cocktail trend. One of its specialties is a beet salad cocktail.

Chez Zou also in NYC has a drink that tastes like strawberry cheesecake and The Modern at the Museum of Modern Art offers a cocktail that tastes just like key lime pie.

Other mixologists have created heartier drinks like the shepherd’s pie-flavored highball or one that tastes like an Al Pastor taco.

Double Chicken Please Owner GN Chan said that he thinks these drinks are becoming more popular because people are getting more familiar with cocktails with unique ingredients.
