Here’s Where Montgomery County Falls on List of Metros with the Fastest-Selling Homes

Montgomery County was No. 38 on the list with a median of 17 days on market. The median sale price was $440,000.

Due to high home prices and mortgage interest rates, homes across the country in 2023 are not being snapped up as quickly as in some previous years, writes Elena Cox for Stacker.

In September, the median number of days a home spent on the market was 33. Stacker ranked U.S. metros by the number of days homes were on the market that month using data from Redfin.

When there was a tie, the metros with the most home sales in September ranked higher.

Here is where Montgomery County and other local metros rank compared to other metros in the U.S.

Montgomery County was No. 38 on the list with a median of 17 days on the market. The median sale price was $440,000.

Scranton was No. 34 with a median of 16 days on the market. The median sale price was $189,000.

Allentown was No. 18 with a median of 13 days on the market. The median sale price was $320,000.

Lancaster was No. 18 with a median of 8 days on the market. The median sale price was $329,950.

York took the 5th spot, Reading the third spot, and Harrisburg the number one spot.
