Dischell Bartle Dooley paralegal Tracey Barnes is being recognized and celebrated for her dedication to the paralegal profession with a prestigious award.

Active in the Montgomery County Paralegal Association, Barnes was nominated for the National Federation of Paralegal Associations’ Outstanding Local Leader Award.

At the NFPA Annual Convention last month, Barnes was announced as the winner.

Barnes’ passion for the paralegal profession dates to 7th grade, when she was introduced to and had a conversation with a paralegal.

A valuable member of Dischell Bartle Dooley since 1988, Barnes has more than 30 years of experience.

Barnes first earned her Paralegal Certificate through Penn State University’s Legal Studies Program in 1992.

She holds certifications and memberships across multiple professional associations, including the Montgomery County Paralegal Association, which she joined in 1999.

Barnes served as a board member for multiple years and held all office positions. She is the Current Committee Chair of the Continuing Legal Education and Membership Committees. Although this will be Barnes last year on the board, she will continue to be an active member.

Barnes says she was surprised by her nomination and did not find out until the day of the convention.

“I felt humbled,” she recalled.

Barnes says her favorite part of being a member of the association is all the people she meets, and the connections she’s made with other members.
