Candlewood Suites King of Prussia Set to Break Ground in April

The Candlewood Suites is an IHG Hotels & Resorts brand. It is a select service, extended stay property.

The developer of the 107-room Candlewood Suites King of Prussia is set to break ground on the project in April 2024, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The hotel at 850 Mancill Mill Road off West Valley Forge Road will be managed by Meyer Jabara Hotels. According to Rick Odorisio, senior vice president of hotels at Meyer Jabara Hotels, the property is expected to open in the third quarter of 2025.

Ted Drauschak, who owns several mixed-use commercial and residential developments in the Philadelphia suburbs, is developing the hotel.

The Candlewood Suites is an IHG Hotels & Resorts brand. It is a select service, extended stay property, which Odorisio believes will do well in King of Prussia.

“Extended stay hotels have done extremely well normally, but even during COVID they did really, really well,” he said.

Once it opens, the four-story property will feature kitchenettes in all its 107 suits along with a fitness center and swimming pool. It will employ at least 30 workers, both full- and part-time, as select service hotels need a smaller staff.
