Forbes Ranks the Wealthiest Americans and There Are Some Familiar Montco Faces

To make the Forbes 400 list, the superrich needed to have a net worth of at least $2.9 billion.

America’s wealthiest people are even richer this year than they were last year after regaining a collective $500 billion, thanks in part to rising technology stocks, writes Rob LaFranco and Chase Peterson-Withorn for Forbes.

On the list are a few familiar faces from Montgomery County:

No. 28 Jeff Yass

Jeff Yass, a Bala Cynwyd billionaire, is worth $28.9B. He is a co-founder of Susquehanna International Group and has made most of his money in trading and investments.

No. 61 Michael Rubin

Michael Rubin is a Bryn Mawr billionaire. He has made most of his wealth through online retail as the CEO of Fanatics, a leading provider of licensed sports merchandise.

No. 137 Arthur Dantchik

Arthur Dantchik is also a cofounder of Susquehanna International Group. He lives in Gladwyne and has a net worth of $7.3B.

No. 249 Jeff Lurie & Family

Wynnewood’s Jeff Lurie is best known as the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles. His net worth is $4.6B

No. 304 John Middleton

Bryn Mawr’s John Middleton’s family was in the tobacco business. He made his fortune selling that business and now has a net worth of $3.7B.
