Wawa is continuing its Montgomery County expansion with the recent opening of its latest location in East Norriton Township, writes Justin Heinze for the Patch.

The large new store is located at 14 E. Germantown Pike.

A grand opening last week featured local officials, first responders, and a fire truck. Wawa’s official mascot, Wally Goose, also made an appearance.

“What a fun morning at the grand opening of the East Norriton Wawa!” said State Rep. Gregory Scott. “Starting the day with a Wawa coffee, community, and Wally Goose, wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Hundreds of residents attended the opening throughout the day, with the first 100 customers who visited the new store before 8 a.m. also receiving a free t-shirt.

At the event, Wawa also highlighted its Wawa Foundation Breast Cancer Awareness Fund. The fund aims to support local community nonprofits working to fight breast cancer. The fund currently has up to $200,000 to award.
