Have you been in a dating rut lately and wish for a more authentic way to make connections with potential love interests?

A new singles event that is coming to Philadelphia may be exactly what you need, writes Laura Brzyski for Philadelphia Magazine.

Allie Hoffman, a New York City singleton, created The Feels to help other singletons find more meaningful connections.

With The Feels, romantic hopefuls skip past surface-level exchanges and get right to the heart of the matter with the help of guided meditation, extended eye contact and deeper, more personal questions.

She debuted the event in East Williamsburg in the summer of 2022 and last month brought it to Washington DC.

Hoffman has been receiving a great response to her alternative approach to the dating scene. She believes a big part of the reason why is that many people are simply burnt out from using dating apps.

“People — nearly 80 percent — are fatigued with dating apps,” she explained.

“They were never designed to meet our needs in the first place — they’re designed to hold your attention, to keep you in the app. And now, we’re in this culture of ghosting, breadcrumbing, and gaslighting each other — no wonder we’re let down! All I’m doing with The Feels is showing there’s a demand and a desire for a new way to relate.”
