Cheltenham High School Grad Recognized as ‘Top Doc’ for Fourth Consecutive Year

Dr. Raymond Singer, a Cheltenham High School graduate, has been recognized as a “Top Doc” by the Philadelphia Magazine for the fourth consecutive year, writes Ryan Genova for the Glenside Local.

Singer is the Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. As a cardiothoracic surgeon, he has performed almost 7,000 heart and lung operations. His work has saved and enhanced thousands of lives.

Singer spent almost three decades with the Lehigh Valley Health Network before returning to Montgomery County in 2019.

In addition to being repeatedly recognized as a “Top Doc,” he received many more awards during his long and successful career, including the Arrnandi Goracci, MD Memorial Prize for Teaching, the DuPont Pharmaceutical Young Investigators Award, and The Pennsylvania Association for Thoracic Surgery Award for Clinical Research.

He has also been honored with the American Heart Association Physician Award for Acute Care in Cardiovascular Surgery and the Distinguished and Exceptional Attainments in Life Alumni Achievement Award at Muhlenberg College.

In addition to performing life-saving surgeries, he enjoys teaching and writing. He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed scientific and news journal articles.
