Plans to construct several warehouses at Lionville Station Farm in Uwchlan Township appear to have been canceled, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

The Downingtown Area School District entered a sales agreement for 237 acres of farmland just north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike with Audubon Land Development in July 2022 for $96 million. The district acquired the property in 2006 for $22 million.

The developer was planning to build 1.96 million square feet of warehouse space on the land.

However, during a board meeting last week, District Solicitor Guy Donatelli said that the district and the developer had decided to dissolve the agreement.

“At this point, the participants in that discussion have come to the conclusion that the parties should begin to take steps to unwind that agreement in an orderly fashion,” he said.

This means that the agreement will be concluded in a way that “there are no outstanding issues between the parties, that the parties go their separate ways cooperatively, that there will be no loose ends, and that the benefits provided under that agreement” stay with the District, he added.

A grassroots organization composed of residents was very vocal against the project.
