DH Property Holdings, a New York developer, last week submitted plans to build a 746,240-square foot warehouse complex at the site of the former Philadelphia Inquirer printing plant in Upper Merion, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The plans detail the building of two industrial buildings on the 46.3-acre site that the real estate firm bought from MLP Ventures which is based in Radnor in July of 2022.

The Planning Commission hasn’t yet decided whether it is going to approve or deny the proposal.

The site on River Road is zoned for heavy industrial, and because it is on a state road, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation must weigh in on any development plans too.

DH Property Holdings has designed the new warehouse complex to include 348 car parking spots, 159 loading spots and 120 trailer spots.

The developer has been digging deep roots in the Philadelphia area. It currently has more than 2 million square feet of industrial building under development here, including a warehouse distribution complex in Northeast Philadelphia and a storage, distribution and logistics facility in Southwest Philadelphia.
