Beneduce Vineyards in nearby Pittstown, New Jersey, which is already known as one of the top East Coast producers, has now been provided with even more credibility after receiving excellent scores from reviewer Stuart Pigott, who is a member of wine critic James Suckling’s highly regarded staff, writes Paul Vigna for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

Beneduce Vineyards planted its first vines in 2009 and then opened a tasting room three years later. Owner and winemaker Mike Beneduce has been farming 25 acres around the tasting room for over a decade and will be harvesting his first grapes from another vineyard across the road next year.

The family-owned operation that combines outstanding wines with picturesque vineyards that can be viewed by visitors from the tasting room was awarded 90 or more points to eleven of the wines Pigott sampled during the tasting.

The highest score, 93, was awarded to Beneduce’s signature red grape, an Austrian native called Blaufränkisch. Four wines received a score of 92, including the Dry Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Rosé Pet Nat, and ‘Intermezzo.’

Meanwhile, its 2021 Chardonnay earned an 89.
