Amelia Boscov, a former Wynnewood resident, chose the Main Line as the background setting for her award-winning short film, Tripping, writes Ben Silver for the Main Line Today.

The film stars three-time Emmy nominee Dot-Marie Jones (Glee) and Holly Painter. It follows a pregnant high schooler who goes on a road trip with her lesbian mother to get an abortion at the nearest women’s health clinic.

“It was really rewarding to get to direct really incredible actors and see the script I’ve been working on for so long come to life through them,” said Boscov.

The filming locations included several local staples such as Bryn Mawr College and Penn Wynne Park as well as Boscov’s alma mater Friends’ Central High School.

The movie will premiere on October 26 at the 32nd annual Philadelphia Film Festival and there will be another showing on October 29.

The film has already gathered major accolades from many other festivals, including winning the top screenwriting award from New York University’s First Run Film Festival and best produced screenplay at LA’s Broad Humor Film Festival.
