The Philadelphia Inquirer Uses This Montgomery County School District to Determine if Others are Underfunded  

The Inquirer has a new way of measuring which school districts in PA are underfunded and it involves a Montgomery County school district.

The Philadelphia Inquirer has a new way of measuring which school districts in The Keystone State are underfunded, and it involves Methacton in Montgomery County.  

The article uses Methacton School District in Montgomery County’s funding to compare with others in the Philadelphia region. 

Readers can plug in their local school district to see how their funding compares against the Montgomery County district, along with William Penn School District in Delaware County, which has a similar size.  

Both Methacton and William Penn have a difference in the minimum amount needed to spend per student. William Penn has a higher poverty rate among the student body at 22 percent, compared to Methacton at 4.3 percent.  

The district will be compared with Methacton and William Penn to determine if it is underfunded.
