Montgomery County Community College is seeking applications for the Part-Time
POWER Grant Coordinator position.

The selected applicant is responsible for the consistent guiding of all current and former POWER Students and developing realistic educational plans with each student.

The coordinator’s role is to assist the Director in the smooth running of the POWER program.

This position is contingent upon grant funding. The end date for the grant is June 30, 2024.

This position is part-time, 25 hours per week, college-wide, with the primary location on the Blue Bell
campus. The selected candiate must be available to work day, evening, and weekend hours.

This position has been approved for a flexible work option arrangement.

  • The ideal candidate should have the following credentials:
  • Master’s degree in a helping profession required
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Demonstrated success counseling, mentoring and/or coaching students.
  • Strong attitude of compassion and understanding for those in recovery and/or facing
    mental illness.
    • Excellent communication and planning skills to encourage students to
      meet their goals.
  • Knowledge of college software systems such as CROA, Blackboard, and Colleague is
    preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • An understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse academic, socioeconomic,
    cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Background in human services, counseling, and/or student advising.
