Daily Bread Community Food Pantry Raises Over $10,000 with Help from Ambler Savings Bank
Inflation coupled with a sharp decrease in Supplemental Nutritional Benefits (SNAP) earlier this year, Daily Bread Community Food Pantry has seen a huge spike in clients who are struggling to put food on the table.
In order to keep up with demand, they launched a summer donation campaign thanks to help from Ambler Savings Bank. Donations were matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000, in total raising $10,420.
Each month, Daily Bread serves over 1,000 people nutritious food in the Collegeville area. Since 1997, their mission has been to eliminate hunger by providing food, promoting the value of nutrition, increasing self-sufficiency, and instilling hope.
“We are grateful for the Bank’s support. Our donations are down and our shelves are nearly empty, but the need is still huge,” said Loretta Stever, Executive Director, Daily Bread Community Food Pantry.
“This matching donation will enable us to purchase food right away, and also support our upcoming holiday meal distribution,” she continued.
Ambler Savings Bank has committed to donating 5-8% of after-tax profits to local non-profit organizations, specifically in the areas of education, affordable housing, hunger, and community development.
“It’s an honor to work with Daily Bread to support those facing food insecurity right here in the Bank’s footprint,” said Carolyn Watson, Marketing Officer, Ambler Savings Bank.
