These Montgomery County Companies Made Forbes Best Employers by State List 2023
Forbes has once again compiled its America’s Best Employers by State 2023 list and several Montgomery County companies ranked in the top 50 of Pennsylvania’s best employers.
For the ranking, Forbes worked with the market research company Statista to survey 70,000 employees across the United States at companies with more than 500 employees, writes Rachel Rabkin Peachman for Forbes.
Employees were asked to rate their employer on the working environment, diversity, and potential for development among other criteria.
In the overall ranking, employers in the healthcare and social services industry and educational institutions were most represented. In total 1,392 organizations made the list.
For the Best by State ranking for Pennsylvania, the Montgomery County organizations represented included:
Main Line Health
Ranked No. 7 in the state, Main Line Health, which is headquartered in Radnor Township, owns two Montgomery County acute care hospitals—Lankenau Medical Center and Bryn Mawr Hospital, and was founded in 1985.
Johnson & Johnson
Ranked No. 19 in the state, Johnson & Johnson is headquartered in New Brunswick, New Jersey and is the parent company of McNeil Consumer Healthcare located in Fort Washington. Johnson & Johnson was founded in 1886.
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Ranked No. 30, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has a strong presence in Montgomery County, including its CHOP Specialty Care, King of Prussia. CHOP was founded in 1855.
Merck & Co.
Ranked No. 35 in the state, Merck & Co. is headquartered in Kenilworth, New Jersey, but has research and development locations in Montgomery County including in Upper Gwynedd and West Point.
GSK
Ranked No. 43, GlaxoSmithKline founded in 1830 has an office in Collegeville.
