It is Apple Picking Season Again, Here’s Where to Go Near Montgomery County

During apple season, Weaver's Orchard harvests almost 30 different varieties.

There is nothing quite as satisfying as walking through an orchard and being able to pick your own fresh fruit to enjoy later.  It is all about enjoying the fruits of your labor, right?

If you are looking to find the perfect spot for apple picking this fall, Laura Brzyski and Bailey King at Philadelphia Magazine have a compiled a list of 16 orchards to visit.

Here is just a sampling of that list:

Barnard’s Orchard

Located in Kennett Square, Barnard’s Orchard will kick off apple season around September 17. Over 30 varieties are usually available at picking time.

Highland Orchards

Located in West Chester, Highland Orchards offers a pick-your-own area as well as a farmer’s market with local produce, dairy products, and fresh baked goods. The kids will love the hay rides the orchard offers on weekends in September and October.

Solebury Orchards

Located in New Hope, Solebury Orchards keeps its website up to date on what fruits are ready for harvest, including a list of the apple varieties they grow there. On the weekends, you can enjoy a wagon ride back and forth from the orchards.

Weaver’s Orchard

Located in Morgantown, Weaver’s Orchard offers different picking options throughout the year. During apple season, they harvest almost 30 different varieties.
