Once you step into Vinyl, a new music venue and bar in Center City, you are welcomed by a well-executed blend of an intimate concert venue, restaurant, and nightclub, reports Aunyea Lachelle for NBC 10 Philadelphia.

“I’ve always wanted to create some live music in our city,” said Philadelphia restaurateur Rob Wasserman, co-founder of Vinyl. “Our city is so known for live music, dating back fifty or sixty years.”

Wasserman teamed up with concert producer Josh Zwirzina to bring their collective passions to life. They spent months just looking for certain details – such as the gorgeous chandeliers – to create an atmosphere where people could feel at home.

“Everybody that’s been coming in and checking us out has been so thrilled,” said Wasserman, “and that’s what you want.”

Each night brings a new music experience, ranging from country and R&B singers to rock bands and DJ sets.

As far as food goes, culinary director Matthew Moon has created a perfect menu consisting of foods that can be eaten with a drink in one hand while listening to music. The sautéed octopus is a must-try, among other delicious offerings.
