There are a lot of factors you need to consider when planning your retirement. It may surprise you to learn that where you retire can have a big impact on your quality of life after you say goodbye to those 9 to 5 days.

Samuel Stebbins of The Center Square writes that affordability, easy access to physical activities, quality health care, and social venues are all important when you are deciding where you are going to retire.

Based on 11 key measures including health outcomes, the concentration of medical service providers, air quality, and venues for physical activity, Montgomery County has been named the best place to retire in Pennsylvania.

Our county has a population of 850,890 people, 17.7% of whom are retirement age. The average life expectancy here is 80.5 years.

A big plus to retiring in Montgomery County is that there are 132.8 doctors for every 100,000 people in the county. This is compared to just 81.1 per 100,000 across the state. Quality healthcare shouldn’t be hard to find within the county.
