The Foundation is also utilizing this donation to fund new materials, such as a laser cutter to encourage engagement in design and prototypes in STEM business classes.

Upper Dublin School District students will now have expanded educational opportunities, thanks in part to a $5,000 donation from Ambler Savings Bank. The Upper Dublin Education Foundation will use the funds to help create next-level educational experiences for its students.

In the 2022-23 school year, the donation from Ambler Savings Bank helped fund new initiatives including the purchase of biology lab equipment at the high school, allowing students to use temperature probes and ph sensors to collect and analyze data on Chromebooks. In addition, Makey Makey STEM materials enriched the experiences for elementary school kids as they transformed everyday objects into computer interfaces, learning about electricity, conductivity, electronics, coding and programming.

“We were able to fund many exciting programs in 2022-23, thanks to the generous support from donors like Ambler Savings Bank,” says Michelle Boas, Executive Director of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation.

In the fall, the Foundation has plans for new programs at the planetarium at Sandy Run Middle School that span several curriculum areas and grade levels – Cosmology; Cosmic Recipe: Setting the Periodic Table; World War 2; and A Way to Infinity – bringing the content alive in a unique, immersive learning environment.

The Foundation is also utilizing this donation to fund new materials, such as a laser cutter to encourage engagement in design and prototypes in STEM business classes. Additionally, Upper Dublin High School will expand its Broadcasting Club, with more live streams and opportunities for involvement.

“Supporting education is a core value here at Ambler Savings Bank. We are proud to support the programming that the Upper Dublin Education Foundation provides,” says Roger Zacharia, President and CEO, Ambler Savings Bank.
