Wells Fargo to Close Montgomery County Location in Fall

Wells Fargo recently announced that it will be closing its Flourtown, Montgomery County location on October 4, 2023.

The increasing trend of customers choosing to do their banking on their phones is forcing many banks in the U.S. to close branches, writes Jeff Ward for WFMZ.

Wells Fargo has made the difficult decision to close the Flourtown branch on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Until then, customers can use each branch and bank with us as they always have,” the bank said in a statement.

The next closest branch for Flourtown customers is the Glenside branch which is about three miles from the Flourtown branch at 1886 Bethlehem Pike.

“This is not easy decision or one we take lightly,” the bank said. “Branches continue to play an important role in the way we serve our customers, and we continuously evaluate our branch network in light of changing customer needs, the increase in the use of digital banking and market factors.”

Wells Fargo has closed branches in the Lehigh Valley and other counties as well.
