When Greg and Kasey Watson bought the Twin Hills Farm in Collegeville in 2020, the six-acre property was fully working and the barn was salvageable, but the home needed to be replaced, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

“We would drive by and the kids would love to look at the cows and other animals,” recalled Greg, branch manager at Conshohocken-based Go Mortgage. “We were drawn to it so we purchased it, not knowing what we were going to do.”

The property was in a community where the family already lived and made friendships, which was a definite plus for them.

The Watsons designed a two-story modern farmhouse to replace the old structure on the property. The new home has six bedrooms and six bathrooms and abundant indoor and outdoor space. It is more than big enough for their growing family that already includes three children with a fourth on the way.

“We wanted to pay homage to the house’s history, but also build a house around our lifestyle,” said Greg. “It has some traditional aspects but also meets all the needs of a modern family.”
