Several sources are reporting that Nike will re-release the Philly-flavored Nike Kobe 4 in 2024 in honor of the late Kobe Bryant who was a graduate of Lower Merion High School, writes Robert Mavi for LeBron Wire.

The five-time NBA champion was born in the Philadelphia area, but his family moved soon after to support Kobe’s father’s basketball career. After some years abroad, his family returned to the Philly area and Kobe graduated from Lower Merion High School.

While he played basketball for the LA Lakers, he always spoke fondly of his hometown especially his love of Philly cheesesteaks and the fact that he was a big Philadelphia Eagles fan.

The Kobe 4 was initially released in 2009. The sneakers have a red, white, and blue colorway perfectly representing the birthplace of the United States.

Nike hasn’t officially confirmed the re-release, but sources like Nice Kicks and Complex Sneakers say the sneakers will be out sometime next summer.
