Dan and Chelsea Katz, the owners of West Ave Grille Restaurant & Food Truck and Pizza Wheel in Jenkintown are opening a new restaurant, Highland Restaurant and Bar, in the spot where Bernie’s Restaurant & Bar used to be, writes Ryan Genova for Glenside Local.

“This has been in the works for the last 60-90 days,” Dan Katz said.

“The menu will be modern fusion American, with a little bit of everything for everybody. We’re going to have happy hours, live music, food until 1:00 a.m. It’ll be a place where you can bring your kids for dinner and a late hangout spot with an outdoor fire pit. It’s going to be a great community spot.”

Dan said they are hoping to open the new restaurant and bar at 391 Highland Avenue in Glenside within a few months, By late summer or early fall at the latest.

They plan on releasing more information about the menu and other details soon.
