How Important Is It for You to Get the Next Six Months Right?

Heading into the summer means we are at the midpoint of the year. Hard to believe, right?

Have you been successful at the goals you set for yourself and your business way back in January? What are you going to do to ensure that the next six months are successful for you and your business?

Are you ready and equipped to thrive in the months ahead or will you simply survive, bouncing from crisis to crisis?

Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “In preparing for battle, I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” Do you have a clear and specific written plan of action? Creating a plan and leaving it on a shelf to collect dust, never reviewing or adapting it to changes in your market is useless. Plans are meant to be revisited and refreshed; often your goals need to be realigned.

While you cannot predict everything that is going to happen, by planning, you will be more likely to thrive regardless.

Plans are the framework for success. They will keep you on track toward achieving the core purpose even if circumstances force you to readjust periodically. Lewis Carroll said, “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.”

Do you know where you are going and are you willing to do whatever it takes to get there? To get the next six months right, be willing to set time aside regularly to plan. Also, take time to look at the progress you have made. What helped you to be successful?

Acknowledge the places where things have not gone as well. What stopped you from meeting your goals? Is there a routine or habit pushing your forward or holding you back? Be honest with yourself. And give yourself grace where needed- beating yourself up is not going to motivate you to get on track.

Think too about the people on your team. Do you have the team to help you succeed? Are you developing leaders? Don’t be afraid to change the routines and processes to shake things up a little. Often that is just what is needed to get everyone on the same path to winning.

Sometimes it takes an outsider to see what is really going on. If you feel stuck, try asking a trusted friend or mentor for advice. Maybe you need an accountability partner for the areas where you repeatedly fall off the plan. Here at Achievement Unlimited, we provide mentorship and leadership development programs to help business owners and leaders to reach higher levels of success.
