Firstrust Bank recently helped celebrate the grand opening of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia’s new ReStore at 3111 West Allegheny Avenue with a $25,000 donation.

The new ReStore is Habitat’s second ReStore location in Philadelphia, and 100 percent of its profits will go toward building and repairing more homes in the city.

“As Philadelphia’s Hometown Bank, Firstrust is committed to cultivating prosperity for the communities we serve, and supporting Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia allows us to do just that,” said Tim Abell, CEO and President of Firstrust Bank. “This new ReStore will allow Habitat to build and repair more homes in the city, giving people the stability needed to succeed, and Firstrust is thrilled to support Habitat’s important work.”

Habitat Philadelphia’s ReStores sell new and gently-used furniture, appliances, building supplies, home goods, and more. In the last year, the ReStore on Washington Avenue reached more than $1.5 million in sales, allowing Habitat to work alongside more families in Philadelphia. Profits from the ReStores fund Habitat Philadelphia’s programs, and with a new ReStore, more families can have a safe, warm, and dry place to live.

The new ReStore is now open to shop every Tuesday through Saturday from 10 AM-5 PM. Donations can be dropped off at the ReStore Tuesdays through Saturday from 10 AM-3 PM. Arrangements can also be made for donations to be picked up for free.

Habitat Philadelphia recently completed its 1,000th home built or repaired in the city since 1985, and now, its new goal is to reach the next 1,000 homes in five years. The new ReStore on Allegheny Avenue will allow Habitat to work alongside even more Philadelphia families and see a greater difference being made in local communities.
