Seeking More Amenities, UGI Corp. Moves to New King of Prussia Building, 880 Yards West from Present Headquarters
UGI Corp., like many United States firms in the post-COVID era, is seeking to welcome employees back on site with better-appointed office spaces. The energy and distribution company is therefore vacating one King of Prussia office building for another, as reported by Paul Schwedelson in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The relocation will see the UGI Corp. headquarters shift from 460 N. Gulph Road (97,290 sq. ft.) to 500 N. Gulph Road (100,820 sq. ft.).
In addition to the extra elbow room, the relo holds more modern amenities for employees. The new site, built in 1979, received nearly $30 million in renovations in 2019, comprising:
- A new fitness center and new conference facility
- Upgraded cafeteria, lobby, and restrooms
- A covered the parking lot with an electric-vehicle charging station
“[T]his more modern layout will foster greater collaboration and ideation amongst employees, create new opportunities with customers, and support business growth,” said UGI Corp. spokesperson Robert Ferris.
The new address for UGI Corp. was formerly occupied by biopharmaceutical firm CSL Behring. Its reevaluation of internal space needs led it to sublease the property in 2022.
UGI Corp. representatives have not made their plans for their former site known.
More on King of Prussia commercial real estate hopping is at the Philadelphia Business Journal.
