The mid-point between Jenkintown and Lancaster was the beginning of a Fishtown couple’s marriage journey. Oakbourne Mansion in West Chester was where 28-year-old Aidan Hamilton proposed to his fiancée Jasmine Nguyen last March. This spot was important since it was the perfect place for Aidan’s family from Jenkintown, and Jasmine’s from Lancaster to congregate.

This was certainly not the last of nuptial excursions the couple had in the Philly area. The pair, who met as freshmen at Drexel University in 2012, decided to go the nontraditional route with their engagement photos, writes Kristen Schott for Philadelphia Magazine.

After ample research, they booked a photographer and excursion on Sea Philly, a 1960s picnic boat named Argonaut.

Their photo shoot began at Bartram’s Garden, where photographer Minh Cao followed them onto the vessel as they set sail on the Schuylkill River. The photographer made sure that they had all the details and took “in-the-moment” shots with the Philly skyline in the background.

Jasmine and Aidan will tie the knot this September at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul.
