King of Prussia District and presenting sponsor SERVPRO of King of Prussia invite families to a free block party on Apr. 30 from 1–4 PM at the King of Prussia Town Center.

At the event (for which a $5 per-person donation is gracefully suggested), the supporting organizations will present Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) with the results of its two signature events each March, dedicated to maintaining the health of the area’s young patients:

  • KoP Shops for CHOP, a program in which area vendors donate proceeds from patrons taking advantage of special deals and promotions
  • King of Prussia Restaurant Week, a multi-day set of lunch and dinner menus whose creators agree to allocate a percentage of each check

The free block party will feature:

  • Inflatable games from Pure Fun Entertainment
  • Crafts with local children’s book author Nahjee Grant and Snapology
  • Lulu’s on Wheels, a party bus for six-and-unders
  • Appearances from Belle and Elsa from Once Upon a Dream (2–3 PM)
  • Face painting with Joodles the Clown
  • Special appearance of the Eagles’ mascot Sensory Swoop (1–2 PM) and cheerleaders (2-3 PM) for Spread Bagelry’s Eagles Autism Foundation campaign
  • Adoptable pets from Noah’s Ark Rescue Project and Sanctuary (NARP) in Glenmoore, Chester County
  • Music by Spyder Entertainment
  • Performances by Upper Merion Dance and Gymnastics Center and Valley Forge Dance School
  • A stilt walker and fire trucks
  • Samples and giveaways from KOP Town Center restaurants and retailers
  • The 3:30 PM check presentation to CHOP

Over the years, King of Prussia District has grown this event into a community-wide fundraiser, which includes raffles, Upper Merion School District involvement, and a corporate fundraising program. These additional elements have contributed to a steady increase in donation totals each year, from $11,500 in its first year to $69,140 in 2022.

In eight years, this campaign has raised $290,124 for CHOP’s King of Prussia campus.

KOP Restaurant Week and KOP Shops for CHOP 2023 and Block Party for CHOP are produced by King of Prussia District and presented by SERVPRO of King of Prussia.
