Eric Goldstein, the executive director of King of Prussia District, will speak at Philadelphia Magazine’s ThinkFest

Eric Goldstein, the executive director of King of Prussia District, is joining Philadelphia Magazine’s ThinkFest on November 15, to talk about the rise of the urban suburb, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia Magazine.

According to recent research, Millennials love living in the city but once they start thinking about starting a family they gravitate more towards the suburbs. Nevertheless, they still want to keep some of the vibrant amenities and walkability they are accustomed to in the city.

According to Goldstein, America’s edge cities are in a perfect position to combine suburban comfort and urban vitality and he has been working with King of Prussia towards that.

“While people still want to live and work in suburban communities, they are looking for communities that are more dynamic and more stimulating,” noted Goldstein.

King of Prussia’s Business Improvement District aims to add mixed use properties, improve transit services, and create a walkable environment.

However, he told Philadelphia Magazine, “King of Prussia is a suburban community and it will remain a suburban community.”
