Stacker Data Answer Burning Question: Where Did Those New Neighbors Across the Street Come From?
Stacker, using U.S. Census Bureau data, has identified the points of origin to new residents moving into Montgomery County. The analysis, reported in Newsbreak, covers the period of 2015–2019.
The study identified the top 20 points of origin for individuals moving into the state’s third-most populated county.
Two locales produced the greatest number of move-ins from this bottom tier of the ranking:
- Pennsylvania itself, reflecting new residents from counties such as Dauphin and Monroe
- New Jersey, where transplants hailed from Bergen and Gloucester counties
Other low-volume newbies to the area come from New York State; Washington, D.C.; and Delaware.
The top ten are as follows:
Rank | County | State | Number of Transplants |
10 | Northampton | Pa. | 376 |
9 | Kings | N.Y. | 388 |
8 | Camden | N.J. | 426 |
