Jenkintown’s Meadowbrook Farm reopens for the 2023 spring-summer season on Apr. 15 (tomorrow). The public garden at 633 Washington Lane has been renovated by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), according to the Glenside Local story by Ryan Genova.

The property’s refresh was an 18-month project. Its scope included:

  • A reconstructed, replanted entrance walkway
  • A colorful, fragrant re-do of the main garden
  • Updates to the garden rooms on the farm grounds
  • Renovations to the herb garden and the queen’s garden
  • Addition of public seating spots

The site is still emerging from its winter slumber, however, the recent warm spell has already brought out the hellebores (commonly called the “Lenten rose” despite it’s not being related) and daffodils. The property in general is picturesquely dressed in shades of purple, peach, apricot, white, yellow, silver, and blue.

As if all that is not enough to inspire a visit, there’s this: admission to Meadowbrook Farm is free.

“After considerable renovations and design updates, we are thrilled to open the doors at Meadowbrook Farm this spring. With numerous enhancements to the gardens and planting changeouts throughout the year, there is something unique to experience each time you visit,” said Matthew Dougherty, Associate Director of Facilities, Administration, and Safety at PHS.

More on the reemergence of Meadowbrook Farm is at the Glenside Local.
