On Apr. 11, Community Health & Dental Care, Inc. (CHDC) presented U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean with the 2022–2023 Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award on behalf of the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and Pennsylvania Community Health Centers (PACHC).

The national award recognizes select members of Congress who advocate for increased access to primary care and whose initiatives and leadership have served to sustain and strengthen public investment in community health centers.

Bridgette McGivern, CEO of CHDC, presented the national award at its Coventry Mall location in Pottstown on behalf of NACHC, PACHC, and CHDC. The honor was to thank Dean for all her efforts on behalf of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).

Her recognized initiatives include signed support of the FY23 Health Center Appropriations “Dear Colleague” Letter and cosponsorship of H.R. 5141/S. 958, the MOBILE Health Care Act.

Also in attendance were members of the CHDC board and strategic leadership team.

“We are so blessed to have Congresswoman Dean understand the needs of our community and partner with CHDC to improve healthcare outcomes for every patient we serve, and it was an honor to present Congresswoman Dean with a well-deserved award two years in row,” said McGivern.

“Community Health and Dental Care is dedicated to providing care to those most in need in our community, and I’m grateful to be recognized by their leadership team,” Dean said.

“The pandemic underscored the health disparities in our nation, and their center is at the forefront of high quality, equitable, and accessible care — and we are continually impressed by their passion and vision. I look forward to continuing our work together,” she concluded.
