Montco Hero Gets Permanent Honor; Trappe Roadway Renamed for Trooper Branden T. Sisca

Marker site in Trappe for the Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway.

A portion of Main Street in Trappe will be renamed for Pa. State Trooper Branden Sisca, the public servant taken in a traffic stop gone awry. Justin Heinze reported the honorific in the Norristown Patch.

Sisca, once a Trappe Fire Company chief, lost his life in South Philadelphia, near Lincoln Financial Field, when he and colleague Martin Mack were taken by an errant driver in March 2022. The negligent motorist who cost them their lives still faces charges.

The newly dedicated section of Main Street will be renamed the Trooper Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway. It will stretch between Fifth and Seventh Avenues, with a marker near Michelle’s Jewelry Studio at 435 W. Main Street.

“We’ve chosen to rename the section of Main Street after him because it would be close to the Trappe Fire Company where he volunteered for close to half of his life. [T]his designation [will] serve as a reminder of his selfless service and sacrifice,” State Rep. Joe Ciresi said.

More on the Branden T. Sisca Memorial Highway is at the Norristown Patch.
