Plymouth Meeting Ambulance Chief Tom Trojansky Honored for Lifesaving Measures in Collegeville

By

First responder Tom Trojansky — Ambulance Chief at Plymouth Meeting’s Plymouth Community Ambulance Company — was recognized for heroic response to a Collegeville explosion last fall. The 6abc digital staff reported the honorific.

Trojansky received a county Commendation for Heroism at the Norristown courthouse for his rescue of five colleagues injured in Sept. 2022.

They were hurt when an SCI Phoenix training-exercise explosion misfired, injuring members of the Pennsylvania State Police, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and FBI Philadelphia.

None of the victims’ lives were endangered by the accident, but several required hospital attention for physical harm characterized as “significant” at the site.

Trojanski was one of several responders from that day who were cited for immediate attention to the injured officers.

“It’s great to have a commendation today, it’s wonderful to be recognized. However, public safety is part of the job. It’s what we sign up for. It’s what we do every day,” Trojansky said.
