As players on the Seattle Mariners prep for the 2023 opening day, they’ll be incorporating equipment from JadeYoga, a Conshohocken yoga equipment manufacturer. The Chinook Observer fielded the story for readers.

JadeYoga has shipped mats, cork-yoga blocks (a strength-building tool), and cotton yoga straps (belts used to increase flexibility and stabilize joints) to the spring trainees in the Pacific Northwest.

JadeYoga founder Dean Jerrehian said: “We have athletes from gold medal divers, ice skaters and swimmers practicing yoga on Jade mats for years.

“But as a lifelong baseball fan, I am thrilled to see how professional baseball players are embracing yoga as a way to improve their performance, too.”

A Seattle Yoga News article reported: “[The Seattle Mariners] plan to do yoga in every city they play. The yoga practice will promote mindfulness, flexibility, stability and enhance mobility.

“Each player bats on average 600 times per season. Sometimes the players get lost in the movement. Yoga aims to bring back mindfulness to the players so that their bats become more intentional and effective.”

More on JadeYoga and the sports utility of its equipment is at the Chinook Observer.
