The Eagles painful Super Bowl loss was tough to watch, but the Big Game 2023 commercials at least provided some level of entertainment.

Despite the Eagles’ devastating loss on Sunday’s Super Bowl LVII, the iconic commercials made a positive impact on spectators. These advertisements pull out all the stops in the hunt to become trending topics, but their production and airing don’t come without a hefty price tag.

Conshohocken-based MayoSeitz Media’s founder Ray Mayo says that in-game advertising was sold out last week. The cost of a 30-second spot costs $225,000–$250,000 to reserve a month in advance, reported Jeff Blumenthal and John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

For local businesses, it’s just not in their pay grade to come up with the cash for a Super Bowl cameo. Mayo told the Philadelphia Business Journal that local advertisers in healthcare, higher education, casinos, or other financial sectors would have a better chance at a Super Bowl slot.

Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health were able to take a regional spot this past Sunday. The healthcare system and university also ran an ad during the Super Bowl in 2018.
