Sea Isle City, N.J., could well be nicknamed “Delaware County East,” owing to its number of Phila. suburbanites who vacation at the popular beach town, writes Donald Wittkowski for the Sea Isle News.
“I’ve heard that many, many people come here on vacation from Delaware County,” said Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio.
Quite a few Delco residents also own vacation homes there, Desiderio said.
In recognition of this relationship, the Chambers of Commerce for both Sea Isle City and Delaware County have had collaborative meet-and-greets to cross-promote tourism and business.
Sponsoring these gatherings for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is Michael Brady, who owns an LPL Financial Services firm, as well as a home at the shore destination.
Christopher Glancey, president of the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization, believes that Delaware County represents one of the biggest — if not the biggest — feeder markets for Sea Isle’s vacationers.
