PennDOT Pothole Patrol Takes to Local Roadways; Is Your Montco Pain-Point Up for Repair?
A PennDOT announcement represents good and bad news for Montgomery County commuters. NBC10 Philadelphia’s Dan Stamm and Hannah Gross drove home the details.
The state transportation agency is issuing its annual fleet of repair trucks and crews, the Pothole Patrol, to work on bomb craters that have formed this winter.
The downside is that the work will invariably cause delays.
The upside is that when finished, more smooth sailing should ensue.
“Crews will restrict travel lanes … to patch areas of deteriorating pavement,” read a PennDOT news release on the work. “Motorists are advised to be alert of this moving operation and to expect intermittent lane closures and possible slowdowns when driving near work crews.”
In Montgomery County, the following routes will see Pothole Patrol workers:
- Interstate 76 ramps, Lower Merion and Upper Merion townships
- U.S. 422, Lower Merion and Upper Merion townships
- Route 611, Cheltenham, Abington, Horsham and Upper Moreland townships and Jenkintown Borough
- Fort Washington Avenue, Upper Dublin Township
- Bethlehem Pike, Lower Gwynedd and Springfield townships
- Township Line Road, Abington and Cheltenham townships
A full list of highways with Pothole Patrol work scheduled is at NBC10 Philadelphia.
