The pandemic popularized workplace terminologies such as “Zoom fatigue,” as well as the more recently coined terms “quiet quitting,” “rage applying,” and “Bare-Minimum Monday.” Here are buzzwords to be on the lookout for in 2023, according to Business Insider.
Ever opened your laptop after a frustrating day at work and the applied en masse to a slew of different jobs? There’s a term for that, and it’s called “rage applying.” Some jobseekers have seen a positive pay-off for putting themselves out there.
Bare Minimum Monday
In the same vein as quiet quitting, this term means that employers are not putting pressure on themselves to hit the ground running at the start of the week.
The “Robin Hoods” of the working world will love this term. It usually involves breaking rules for customers and clients, owing to resentment or anti-workplace sentiments.
In the wave of recent layoffs from tech companies, many people are brushing up their résumés if it happens to them. It’s also known as ‘recession-proofing.’
