A menu hallmark of Capriotti's Sandwich Shop: fresh-roasted turkey meat.

Royersford resident Chris Shimer was such a fan of Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop, a fast-casual brand, that he returned it to its East Coast roots. He has just launched his first Montgomery County site, as reported by Yahoo News.

Capriotti’s has been around since 1976, launching in Wilmington, Delaware. It built its reputation (and sandwiches) on a tradition of slow-roasting turkeys, hand-pulling the meat daily, and blending it with fresh accompaniments. The corporate office eventually moved west to Las Vegas.

Its signature sandwiches include:

  • The Bobby: turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo
  • The Capastrami: hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and homemade coleslaw
  • Cheesesteaks in beef, chicken, and vegan varieties

Shimer was so devoted to the Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop menu, he brought the chain back east.

He opened his first version in 2020 on Market Street in Philadelphia. He’s since expanded into Kennett Square, Springfield (Delaware County), and Concordville.

The Montgomery County debut occurred Feb. 20; the new shop is at 467 North Sumneytown Pike, North Wales.

More information on this sandwich shop is at Yahoo News.
