Longwood Gardens is grabbing national attention. For the fifth year in a row, the Kennett Square attraction has earned the No. 1 spot for USA Today’s Best Botanical Garden Holiday Lights.

The annual “A Longwood Christmas” event is what illuminated the outdoor garden’s magic. The event, a beloved tradition in the Philly area, is deserving of its accolades. The over half a million lights and floating florals capture the attention of locals and tourists alike.

Tickets are online to catch the festive decor, but they’re running out fast as the tinseled trees are in high demand for visiting. This year’s theme is “botanical splendor” and runs through Jan. 8. Creators use natural materials, such as dried branches and grapevines, for the wintry display.

The Music Room this year will serve as a floral shop that features professional arrangements, botanical renderings, and even gowns made from floral materials.

Ornamented and decorated fir trees tower up to 18 feet, some even feature over a hundred handmade ornaments and dried flowers. Creativity and innovation know no bounds at the annual holiday exhibition. One of the Christmas Trees is made entirely from succulents.

The famous fountain display in the Open-Air Theatre will be dancing along to Christmas classics. Guests can also enjoy some snacks in the Beer Garden & Café.
